Executive Board Elections 2017-2018
Meet the candidates
For VP of Finance
I have recently returned to full time studies in the fall of 2016, in the BBA – Accounting Major programme. This term, I am completing the first year requirements for the programme and working on further classes through the summer. As a former soldier, I bring organizational skills, leadership, and accountability to DECA. Among many other positions, I have worked in finance for DND and would love to add the role of Finance Director for DECA to my professional experience.
For VP of Recruitment and Retention
I am currently a third-year student in the BBA Marketing program at Camosun, and really excited to be moving on to my fourth year in September. As the Executive Recruitment and Retention Director, I would be highly encouraging Camosun students to join and be involved in all that this club has to offer. As many current members are graduating, it is so important to find and retain new members in order to ensure its success for years to come. Outside of my studies, I enjoy sports, movies, and staring longingly at the ocean – you can probably find me at Ogden Point on the weekends, or visiting the seals at Fisherman’s Warf.
VP of Marketing
Hey there! I am a fourth-year BBA marketing student who is eager to become more involved in the Camosun DECA. This club gives me the opportunity to engage with likeminded and ambitious individuals who are willing to venture outside of their comfort zones and try new things. Every day I am inspired by my classmates and faculty!
When I am not at school or studying at my local coffeehouse, I like to go for long walks on the beach or stop by Spinnakers for a pint of craft cider
Hi, my name is Rya Pesti and I am in the BBA Program with a focus on Human Resource Management. I decided to go into HRM because I love problem solving, creating strategy and helping people reach their goals. A passion of mine is travelling; anytime I see an opportunity to travel I usually take it. Being a part of DECA has helped me stay grounded for a season and establish roots which is exciting and scary. The DECA environment has sparked a new inspiration and passion in me. If I have the honour of playing a leadership role in DECA next school year I will bring that passion: to compete, to grow and to create friendships.
Camosun DECA's Executive Officers are elected by the student members to provide leadership for the current academic year. As our primary core to the club, our Executive Board collectively represent more than 40 members to a variety of key stakeholders, including fellow members, advisors, college administrators, sponsors and business partners, community friends and partners, and beyond. They also develop a program of work to assist in the implementation of the club's strategic plan.
